Prof. Dr. (Brig.) Sameer Shahid Ameen is a highly distinguished Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist with over 25 years of post-graduation experience in sub-specialized eye care. For over 10 years, he has served as a Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist at Al-Ain Eye Hospital, providing expert clinical care and performing complex corneal and refractive procedures.
He completed his MBBS from Rawalpindi Medical College with Distinction and a Gold Medal in Ophthalmology from Punjab University, followed by MCPS and FCPS from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan. Alongside his dedicated practice at Al-Ain, he serves as Senior Professor and Head of the Ophthalmology Department at Bahria University Medical and Dental College (BUMDC), Karachi. A pioneer in advanced corneal procedures in Pakistan, his career includes leading major corneal units, establishing state-of-the-art diagnostic centers, and training postgraduate medical officers.
