Prof. Dr. Munira Shakir is a highly distinguished Professor of Ophthalmology with over 20 years of experience in clinical practice, teaching, and research. She currently serves as a Consultant Pediatric and Laser Refractive Surgeon at Al-Ain Eye Hospital, specializing in pediatric ophthalmology, cataract, and laser refractive surgeries. Known for her exceptional surgical expertise and patient-focused care, Dr. Munira has significantly contributed to the hospital’s reputation for excellence in eye care. Additionally, she is the Program Director for the Residency Program at Liaquat National Hospital & Medical College, Karachi, and co-chairs the Mentorship Committee to guide future ophthalmologists.

Dr. Munira holds numerous leadership roles and has an impressive academic background. She has authored 33 indexed research publications and presented extensively at both national and international conferences. Her contributions extend to reviewing for prominent journals such as the British Medical Journal (BMJ) and the Pakistan Journal of Ophthalmology (PJO).
